Setting page owners

An owner is the person responsible for keeping a page current. Owners are central to ConfluClean: they appear in reports and receive the notifications about content that needs attention.

Assigning owners

  1. Open the Set owners action from the byline popover or the Content list.
  2. Use the user picker to search for and select one or more people.
  3. Save. The owners are now associated with the page.

Multiple owners

A page can have more than one owner. This is useful for content maintained by a team rather than a single person - every owner is included in reports and notifications for that page.

Owner vs. Confluence creator

The ConfluClean owner is independent of the page's original Confluence author. The person who first created a page is often no longer the right person to maintain it. Assigning an explicit owner makes responsibility clear and keeps notifications going to the right people.

Finding content without owners

The Owners report includes an Unassigned section that lists content with no owner, so you can close ownership gaps quickly.
