Descendant propagation
Confluence content is organized as a tree of pages and sub-pages. ConfluClean lets you apply an action not just to a single page but to all of its descendants in one step.
Applying to descendants
When you take an action that supports it, you will see an Also apply to descendant pages checkbox. Tick it to have the action cascade to every page beneath the current one in the tree.
This is the fastest way to act on a whole section of a space - for example, excluding an entire archived project area, or setting the same owner across a documentation tree.
Depth limit
Propagation follows the page tree down to a maximum depth. Very deep trees are handled in batches so the operation stays reliable on large spaces.
Use with care
Descendant propagation is powerful: an action applied to a top-level page can affect hundreds of pages. When the action is Archive, remember that Confluence notifies watchers of every archived page. Preview first and review the affected pages before confirming.
