Auto-archive expired pages

The Archive expired pages automation archives content once it passes its expiration date, so expired material does not pile up in your spaces.

What it does​

After the daily full scan, the automation finds every page whose status is Expired and archives it in Confluence. Because it keys off expiration, you stay in control: only content you gave an expiration date - and that has actually expired - is affected.

Content types covered​

Auto-archive works across all four content types ConfluClean tracks:

  • Pages
  • Blog posts
  • Whiteboards
  • Databases

Batch processing​

The automation archives content in batches so it runs reliably even on large sites with many expired items.

Enabling it​

  1. Go to Administration > Automations.
  2. Open Archive expired pages.
  3. Preview the pages it would archive.
  4. Enable the automation.
warning

Archiving notifies watchers. Confluence emails every watcher of every page that is archived, and this cannot be suppressed. Review the notification spam warning before enabling.
