Status types
ConfluClean uses five statuses to describe where a piece of content is in its lifecycle. Each one comes with a recommended action.
Expired
The content has passed the expiration date set for it. Expired content is the highest-priority signal: someone decided this page had a shelf life, and that date has now passed.
Recommended action: review and update the page, push the expiration date out, or archive it.
Stale
The content has not been modified for longer than the scheme's stale threshold (90 days by default). Stale content is not necessarily wrong, but it has not been touched in a while and may be drifting out of date.
Recommended action: review the page, then either update it or mark it as Keep to confirm it is still current.
Inactive
The content has not been viewed for longer than the scheme's inactivity threshold (60 days by default). Nobody is reading it, which often means it is no longer relevant.
Recommended action: archive it, or promote it so the right people can find it.
Up to Date
No issues were detected: the content is within all thresholds and has not expired.
Recommended action: none. This is the healthy state you want most of your content to be in.
Excluded
The content has been intentionally removed from tracking. Excluded items are never flagged and never archived by automations.
Recommended action: none. Use this for content that should be left alone, such as policy pages or templates.
