Ghost Seat Detection
UserLens detects ghost seats by analyzing multiple activity signals.
Jira activity signals:
- Issue assignments and reporting
- Comments on issues
- Status transitions and field edits
- Work logs
Confluence activity signals:
- Page and blog post creation and editing
- Page comments
A user is classified as a ghost if they hold a license but have shown no activity within the configured threshold (default: 90 days).
note
Users who only view content without editing or commenting may not be detected as active. Dashboard-only and read-only users are not tracked.
